300Wp panels then, which will add to the cost per Wp, but even so ÂŁ7k is a bit steep unless you have compex scaffolding needs or something.

I have just had someone out for 10 panels sumax 156 sp660 and a growatt inverter with a 12 years warranty the solar panels have a 25 year warranty all install for ÂŁ5000 is this a good deal

it's all cheap as chips kit, so if you're happy buying dirt cheap bottom end kit, then the price is reasonable.

I can't see the point in buying pv now as the fit is so low you will probably die before it pays for itself.

Ive just signed up or more free ones on my new house, 16 panels all 250w top notch German panels.

That and an iBoost thing on my immersion element I should see a good saving.

I guess it depends on how long you're expecting to live ;-) If you get a reasonably priced install and a favourable roof/location, it should still be under 8 years. The FIT has dropped but so has the price of PV.

If you only have room for 10 panels you may as well go for the highest wattage available (327 or 330 W). Should be able to get 10x 330W = 3.3 kW for less than you've been quoted for 10x 300W = 3 kW, unless there's something about the roof etc that is pushing the price up.
