Hi guys I would post this in the relevant section but it seems that doesn't get much action as in this thread so sorry. But I was wondering on a new build if the roof that is to have the solar panels is facing dead east is this worth it? My understanding is south facing is best failing that south East.
Many thanks for any replies

East is fine as it receives morning sun and high mid morning sun. The site topography plays a large role as well. East or West would be my choice as it gets the longest duration of solar radiation.

edit- It could also be a planning condition

Topography- the arrangement of the natural and artificial physical features of an area. Can be linked to contour lines(not makeup) of hills or a general term that applies to a buildings surrounding environment.

South facing will ultimately generate the most. East/West split will generate for longer so you can benefit from that if you are at home to use it.

It works for us as we are out all day.

Split the array on both sides.

It will see the sun for longer.

Speak to a pukka solar company on here. I used Medoria, he was great.
