soldering cables!!!

right what would the law say if you!!!! got a connector block inserted cables into said block tightened and then filled and soldered the connector block up at both ends!!! ???????

then covered the whole thing in a nice piece of large heat shrink!!

???

I think I will stick with crimp because of doubt of solder melting in operation.

I'm not actually sure it's an approved method of solder jointing... Where Lenny when you need him?

But there again the regs only state

526.3
Every connection shall be accessible for inspection, testing and maintenance, except for the following:
(iv) A joint made by welding, soldering, brazing or appropriate compression tool.

im just going to sellotape them and plaster over!! also going to get some other business cards typed up free from vista advertising cheap electrical work and give a pay as you go phone number!!

seems to be the norm!!

oh jim i would happily burry the ex wife for you but i hope you used that insulation tape you got to a useful purpose and tie her up! dont want you using it on electrics do we!
