hi all, quick couple of questions,I have wired a new build which has been standing over the cold wet months, all lights etc fitted but no heating.electric gone on today
MCB ltg cct keeps blowing sometimes straight away sometimes 10-20 mins.done all tests.am i right in thinking the lamps could be damp and when heating up causing condensation which eventually arching causing tripping?
2/ ring main vea done all tests noting showing wrong,at 1st was just tripping MCB when anything was plugged in,Now is tripping RCD when earth is terminated at cu,L&N connected but not switched on .Any advice on quickest way to fault find
All advice help muchley muchley appreciated

It is clear you have not tested correctly as you say tests were ok and yet you have tripping......continuity and IR test every circuit again.....if all tests are ok nothing will trip.

edit....after reading post 3 it would appear to be a N-E fault on that circuit.

Got to agree with wirepuller!

Carry out the tests in a thorough and methodical manner. Try not to get side-tracked chasing other faults on other circuits at the same time.
