Hi I really need some help here! I am still new to this stuff

In carrying out the inspection tests : Ze, PFC, PSCC, and Polarity of the supply, do we re energise the installation ie. replace back the supply fuse (i.e. the 100 Amps fuse). Or do we only turn the main switch ON in the consumer unit. Also what about Zs do we reinstate the supply fuse (100 Amps fuse) or do we only turn the supply ie. Main switch back on?

Thanx a million

yopu cant re energuise the supply by just flicking the main switch, if the fuse is still out. When re-energising, turn the main switch to your board off! all MCB's/RCBO's off. Insert main fuse into holder. Turn main switch to CU on. then turn on each circuit on, one by one, providing it is safe to do so1

In what way are you new to all this stuff?

Have you had training? Do you have GN3?
How would you expect to be able to obtain these reading with the fuse removed????????????

Until you can get your head around what these tests portray and be taught how to carry them out safely, especially the live testing, removing the main fuse should not be considered

If you have made yourself familiar with the theory and lack the practical experience,it is important that the tests you are carrying out be done firstly under supervision

Only when you are absolutely sure of what it is all about should this be attemted on your own

Because of the nature of the questions, i am sorry but I will be given no advise on how to procede

So do i need to re-energise the supply by putting back the supply fuse (100 A fuse ) then turn On the Main switch in the consumer unit. Do i need to do this for Ze, PFC, PSCC, and Zs?

Basically I am asking when Life testing i.e Zs, Ze, PFC, and PSCC do I need to re-energise the supply by putting the 100A fuse back and unlocking the isolater then turn the main switch On at the consumer unit for these test?

Please Help!

Nazoom, I've had a look at your previous posts and I now understand why your asking these questions. Your doing your 2391, I thought you are actually testing in the field. You really need to tell us these things. This time last year you were doing your 2330 level 1. What level have you got to so far? Are you ready to study the 2391 yet? Yes we can help but we won't answer your homework for you. Get your books out, and research the subject and if there are things you are not sure of then ask but please show some effort on your behalf. Please don't take this the wrong way, take it has constructive criticism.

I do have GN 3, Wiring Reg, OSG, and some other books but I cant find the answer to this and i have my exam coming soon, I tried looking in these books but i am still unsure about this! My questions are:

Please Help!

How on earth can you be studying at this level without knowing how to answer your own question??

Who is your training provider?

We will help you, but you should be asking yourself what kind of training you have received to need to ask these questions..

Yes and no is the answer.

Never heard of life tester either.

Just being truthfull here Nazoom, but if you don't already understand what are very simple tests for any electrician, especially one who is completing the 2391, then when it comes to the written part of you 2391 I think you're going to be stumped.

Not having a go at you, just offering some adice.

I did look in theses books and other books and even searched Utube and I have bought lots of DVDs to help me with this but no good. Also it has been while since I was in the workshop for this course and now i cant find the answer to these questions and they are very important please I don't know who can help me with this any more! My questions are simple and important. My exam date is this January 18th. And I am, freaking out as this will only get worst if I don't find the answers to these questions. So please Help!
