That's how my living room is looking at moment changing van on Friday , so all my gear in house till then , sod kittens shel have panthers when she gets home in 12min , god help me !

Funny that Des....she's the artist and I'm the one doing the painting and decorating.....(which I flipping well HATE)...plastering I can just about suffer (just filling in chases on a bigger scale ;) ) Tiling...is something I could do well if I practised a bit more (my grandad was a plasterer/tiler/roughcaster for nigh on...50 odd years...so its probably in the blood somewhere)
I told her the art college should put painting and decorating on the syllabus...might give another career path apart from Art Teacher and Maccy D's slave :p (yes I can duck flying objects)
Drives my mother mental when she comes to visit (Tools in the blimmin kitchen!!) LOL

well give her the paintbrush and wave vaguely at the wall on your way out..
call it a pre-emptive strike..

Glenn: result would be either: the paint would still be sitting unopened (I couldn't get the lid off...couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding) or the wall would be unpainted and the paint instead would be all over: her, the carpets, the ceiling, the dog...basically everywhere apart from where its meant to be.....

If work improved a bit (i.e. if companies stopped laying people off enmasse) then I'd just get a deccy in, and spend my time working...rather than messing around with paint and pushing up my blood pressure (I REALLY hate painting and decorating...)

well this is not an issue...the other stuff though......

and as for the `i couldnt get the lid off excuse`..
well theres a way forward here as well and it works in 2 ways:

1) you remove the lid for her thus making you appear helpful and gentlemanly to others looking on...but reinforcing to her your intentions for how her day is to be spent..

and:

2)when the paint all dries in the tin..because she left the lid off all day without any thought to using it...you blame her when you get home...
