as above i am after these items, can anyone recommend a good set at reasonable prices but dont mind paying more for quality, work load is mainly commercial and industrial and alot more of my work now is becoming maintenance so tools suited for this would be helpful, thanks

draper socket set-- VTX71AM. has a unique feature of open ended sockets so the thread don't bottom out when running up threaded rod. about ÂŁ50.

Aldi and Lidl do a combi spanner set for around ÂŁ6 if they have them in stock.

I popped into my local johnston and Bulman the other day and they had socket sets on display for a lot less than i paid for a set from Halfords and they had a look of real quality. If i could find my receipt i think that mine would be going back as my switches for reversing drive direction on the rachets keep locking up

agree with above. Ive got the halfords pro set, 150 peice, and ive not come across anything that this set wont do. fantastic for when im havig to work on panels ect, as often the different maunfacturers use different non standard fixings.

I have had a Halfords pro set for about 10 - 15 years and it has been good as gold and has been used for all sorts, due to losing bits out of it over the years last weekend I brought 2 new Halfords Pro Socket Sets(as they were on offer), 1/4 drive set for ÂŁ15 which was reduced from ÂŁ30 and a 3/8 drive set for ÂŁ20 which was reduced from ÂŁ50 so for ÂŁ35 I have a new set of sockets, happy days!!
They are very good quality and I would recomend them.

I use Proxxon available from Axminster tools. Pricey but satin finish is useful if fingers slippery and each socket or spanner is available seperately if bits lost. Other point for me is a sturdy storage case; annoying if case breaks and sockets spanners are all over the back of the team lwb sprinter never to be seen again!!

same as rick, Bahco S106 (94 piece i think), excellent set, mine also came with a free little Bahco 25 piece 1/4" set which i use EVERY day
