Hi Guys

This week ive been working at a factory where im hoping they will take me on as an apprentice and an electrical mechanical apprentice and things are looking good. So i want to start to build up my own tools a little. Now im wondering what brand of spanners to buy imo Snap on is a bit ott but i dont want cheap and nasty ones. Any reccomendations.

I've got the socket/spanner set from halfords......I find them really good and if you break one they'll replace it.

the halfords proffesional/advanced spanners are made by snap on, hence the lifetime guarantee. the 150 piece set they do for £100 is brill, and has most things you will ever need

someone i know used to manage a halfords bike shop. draper do make some of their stuff like files ect, but snap on make the proffesional/advanced socket sets. (according to my source)

Nah mate I have the full snap on roll cab and top box complete with all snap on tools, and halfords do not sell anything even close mate

I use Teng sockets, but if I saw a comprehensive Bahco set I'd trust that too.(I'm pretty sure they invented the adjustable spanner and their tools seem to be really well engineered). Spanners are a cheapish Hilka set from screwfix, dont use them too often but they are comfortable and also very slim which may come in handy one day. Buy the best you can afford though not necessarily the most expensive !!

There is the cheaper end of Snap on called Blue Point and these tools do look identical to the Halfords Pro stuff.

Got a mix myself of Halfords Pro, Draper, Britool, Teng and the poor mans Snap On - Blue Point.
