Good evening Guys

Was wondering if someone can advise.

Ive wired a door bell system on a job in speaker cable( was last minute floors were going down and only thing in the van)

However when connecting up the kit as per instructions i cannot seem to get it to operate.

Is speaker cable suitable for doorbells

Thanks

it should work fine...

In fact, some speaker cable will outsize doorbell cable, depending how big the speakers are.

only difference is speaker cable is fine stranded, but doorbell cable is solid core.

is it just a 'ding dong' old chime, or a new fangled video doorbell? they might be a bit different.

Can you show us the instructions, and how youve wired it?

I do know the old ding dong type were wired different if you were using batterys in the chime itself, or powered by an external transformer...
