I have power to a shed, would this be a notifiable still if all switches are run o my in the shed and house. I have it in conduit fm from fcu in house to double socket 10m into the shed.
I always thought it was and always notify it's, but have been told it's not as there's no switch ect outside, only in house/shed. This is a spur coming of the ring.
What are your thoughts?

I don't see why you think feeding a socket outside in a shed would not be notifiable, but a switch would be?? Am I missing something? Daz

Are you an Electrician/Trainee/Apprentice?

I still don't get the idea that something is notifiable/not notifiable depending on whether it has a switch. I can't get my head around the reasoning behind that. Daz

It used to be that you could install outside lighting to the exterior of your house without notification, but if you installed some pillar or drive over lights, they required notification though running the cable to them didn't.

Looking at my Part P approved doc (2013 revision), can't see anything to suggest that those lights are notifiable? Unless a new circuit.

Are you in England or Wales - Wales its notifiable, England its not.

Do you have a copy of the latest version of Part P? If you are a scheme member they expect you to have a copy!

No, even in Wales it is not notifiable, unless it is a new circuit.
Running a cable outside was not and is not now notifiable.
Making a connection outside (i.e. to a lamp post, electric gate, etc.) was notifiable (still is in Wales).
