Hi guys,
just a quick bit of advise needed please.

Just went to see a minor job and this is what the guy wants.

To add a double socket in his loft.
There is no other sockets there and the only cables are the lighing ones and a 6mm shower cable.
Now, would you or could you spur off the shower cable with a 13amp fused spur, and run a 2.5mm to a double socket??
The shower is has a 45amp mcb and the fused spur that I am putting in, is an RCD unit.
I advised him to come off a socket in the room below and feed the socket in the loft, but he does not want trunking in the bedroom, or the wall to be chased.
Thanks guys and take care,
Sav

The airing cupboard is normally a good cable route if you have a socket near to it to come off?????

Hi guys,
Thanks for all your answers and suggestions.
There is no cavity wall etc and also the airing cupboard is not another suggestion as its all pipes etc and not really easy for access.
I am going to tell him the only option is off the existing sockets and its going to be a chase up the wall or trunking.
But if he insists about coming off the shower, do you think it will be ok, as in down graded to 13amp fused spur and then fed into a double socket.
Safety is my concern, but also I want to be within the regs and obviously common sense as well. But customers see cables and most think "look, there are wires there, just add a double socket /switch " Doooh !!!!
thanks again guys for all your help
