Discuss Spur in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

either it was in a previous edition (16th or 17th pre amd1) and it doesn't exist now, or, seen as how I just had quick look and somehow missed it ?

ooh , so close but no cigar.

Answer. it doesnt exist.

you could keep looking in an attempt to prove me wrong ?
:)

bloody 'ell, biff. next you'll be telling us :24:that santa and the tooth fairy don't exist. :tank:

The only part I can find is to do with ring finals, stating any loads above 2kW should be on their own dedicated circuit.

I was either taught that they should be seperate, or it was given as best practice advice at some point, or even maybe in one of the Nic books, then again it could even be an urban myth, either way I cannot find an actual reg actually forbidding it.

Good old appendix 15? An 'informative' appendix as one way of achieveing reg 433. Good design is another way ..... Ive just never gotten around to being a good designer!

You're not the only one, neither can I ......

Yes and I looked through 16th ed AMD1 & 2, 17thed and the 17th AMD 1, think I will have a look at the 15th later, lol, like you say it probably has been taught as good design practice in the past, and just stuck.

Hi Guys,
the cooker circuit is done with 6mm cable and is protected by a 20ma breaker. i use the same size cable to the FSU from FSU i use 2.5mm cable to connect the extractor fan.

Just want to know if this is safe and comply with the regs

Yes he can, he could use 1.5mm from the cooker isolator to the FCU, so long as the length of his spur is less than 3m

back to the piece of string. this thread is now a closed loop. or maybe a ring.
