Another trivial topic but here goes... iv been asked to install a security light in a back garden, switch will be located by back door above worktop. there is already a spur (kitchen ring) next to where the switch will go. Just pondering whether to take easy option and spur of ring or take a feed from kitchen light and keep lights seperate? probably a no brainer!
 
timeguard are OK. don't buy b&q ones, they're crap. i generally use 3 core so that the manual override is certain, rather than messing about with that ON/OFF/ON/OFF rubbish.
 
Most that have an override will operate fine on a 2C+E, as long as you only want the PIR to operate when the switch is on (by default it'll timeout after a set time). Override to PIR is often turn on/off/on again (within about 5 secs).
