Hi Guys

I would be grateful for some advice. Can you spur off the cooker outlet in 10mm to a sso to be used for plug in cooker or a ignition for a gas cooker. If it was a normal size electric cooker the sso would not be used but if it was a plug in cooker/gas ignition the outlet would not be used thus still falling under the realms of a dedicated cct for the cooker regarding of which one was being used.

Thanks in advance

Sorry for delay in replying this is the first time I have been online since posting. Yes being blond there would be no way you would be able to get 2x 10mm plus cooker into an outlet. But you could possibly get 4mm. The client wants both outlet and Sao below no spur above.

Remove outlet and replace with single socket. You end up with a 32a radial in 6mm supplying two sockets (assuming CCU has a socket already) with cooker switch acting as double pole isolator. If gas cooker ever replaced by electric then refit outlet ?

whats backing up the cooker circuit? 32 amp? if so a small bit of 2.5 from outlet plate to single socket. (we do this on ring final circuits all the time dont we :) ) your cable will have fault protection but lack overload protection, but as you are only fitting a single socket then your max load will only be 13 amps, so no chance of overloading the cable.

Tin Hat on,
