Stacking tool boxes, packout etc

Looking to change up my van set up and was thinking will split the power tools into 2 boxes rather than 1 big chest for them all.
What is the deal with the stacking boxes. I know these systems have been out for a while like packout and tough system. I just dont see the appeal in having to unclip the boxes to get into the bottom one or to roll a big tower of boxes onto a job.
And the price of these set ups, ouch.
Anyway. Keen to hear thoughts on them.

I've posted on a number of occasions about the packout and make no apologies for again stating how robust it is. Mine takes serious abuse going in and out of sites, yet other than layers of dirt it's as good as the day it was bought.

Dewalt latest models are amazing .Friend just went 18v cordless and clawed back some of his investment selling his old tools .He loved the dewalt boxes and now has 6 batteries , 2 chargers and a host of tools . All in 3 large dewalt boxes

And I am also going 18v ! I get tired of leads etc and ok , the 18V 's wont run as strong as mains tools .But I can live with it . grinder, multi tool, planer , and a 18v impact for ok money . But wanting to buy the SDS 18v drill as i hear great things .My Bosch is excellent but for big stuff like core drilling .I prefer 240v !

I’ve got the dewalt t-stack as my two drills came in boxes, and got a good price on a couple of deeper boxes.

Don’t like having to unclip them apart to get to the bottom one, and everything ends up back in the van as a pile, not neatly clipped back.

Try Milwaukee 18v, nigh on as powerful as mains. And up to 12Ah batteries.

It's be nice to see the standard 3 box offerings (huge box on wheels, medium box and drill box size) being offered with drawers instead of either the large box on wheels (replaced with dolly)or drill box

Try Milwaukee 18v, nigh on as powerful as mains. And up to 12Ah batteries.

Hilti do some expensive battery stuff that is just as powerful as any mains tools that I have

If you're going job to job it's a bit of a faff. I will say it's as tough as old boots. I believe they have introduced drawer units for both the Dewalt and Milwaukee setups. There are other versions such as Trend but have only used the Milwaukee.

For some jobs I have my stanley tote bag .Few festool boxes and I can use a large dewalt box to put in what i can use that day .Just saves so much carrying ! A multitool/ grinder. 18vSDS and 10.8v impact and drill . 2 batteries and a charger can all fit in one box rather than 5 boxes !

It's pretty much a personal preference thing.
When you're on a big job you roll in with just about everything you need on one trolley.
No carrying involved. I'll be honest, I don't often have the chance to use it.
The type of work you do would probably be the biggest factor on whether it would work for you.

"Trend" are in trouble. They lost the plot some years ago wanting to become suppliers of tools and stuff rather than just "cutters " which they are famous for . Their return levels are TOO HIGH and some retailers are unhappy .

Ended up going for a milwaukee double drawer. Got all my drill bits etc in one drawer and a few power tools in the top one.
Is the 3 drawer unit the same external height as the two?
