[ElectriciansForums.net] Stapler for t&e cable
Mind your fingers or you can use a pair of these - right or left handed!

Today I have spent quite a bit of time in a loft correcting various wiring issues, from a 1970's bungalow. Mostly the usual things like unenclosed choc blocks, etc.

But I also noticed the original twin & earth wiring had been stapled to the roof trusses. In some cases the staples were too far in and crushing the cable. In some cases the cables had got pulled e.g. at 90 degrees to the last staple, and the staple was really digging into the outer sheath. While I didn't find any that had actually cut through to the inner copper, I thought one or two looked not far off.

It was enough to make me think I'd never want to use staples for clipping wiring to timber.
