Are you sure there's three wires that were going to the original 2 pin plug? It might be worth checking that the middle wire of the three isn't a packing string or spacer of some sort. Have you actually stripped the insulation off the ends of the three wires ready to go in the new plug?

If you have a test set and still have the original plug there may be hope. Trim back what you can of the cable remaining from the plug and use your test set to sort out what went where using the test set on ohms.

Yeah defo 3 wires. I repair pc's wiring on bits and dabs of stuff and this stuffs no problem but searched online nothing comes up even on int wiring codes! the bear wire is thin, grey and flimsey? set came from germany but made in the far east. Aint got any working tester at min.

Any ideas Lol

Cheers

Take the top off I wont tell you to unplug it as you cant fit a plug set your meter to ohms or that annoying beeping continuity sound and check from end of each bared cable....One will probably go to an internal fuse so thats the live the other to the other side of the transformer thats the Nuetral and one will go to the chasis Earth mark them and connect to your three pin plug acordingly
