I'm looking at placing a static caravan in my garden for elderly relatives to live in.

I already have a SWA cable from the house fusebox to the garage fusebox, and the static caravan would be situated adjacent to the garage.

Typically these caravans are connected to a 16Amp supply, will this be okay in a domestic situation?

The cooker/oven/heating/ho****er would be Gas, so the main power drain/surge would be a Kettle, Ironing or Hair straighteners.

Will I risk exceeding the load to a domestic property from the gird? Can I just run a cable from the an RCD in the garage fusebox?

Thanks

20A MCB in garage CU. 16A commando socket hook-up in 2.5mm flex.

nope...

Its a static...so IIRC its not classed as a "caravan" in the same way the towable ones are...though I'm not near the book at the moment..

ahh stumlbed across a copy..
Section 721 Scope - Park homes and "mobile homes" are covered under the general regulations...

Yeah, a common misconception. Static Caravans are under the general requirements of BS7671 and are NOT classed as a special location.

Caravan Parks ... E.G. The concrete pads are under section 708.

Caravans (the towable type) and Motor-Caravans (the ones with the driving seat incorporated with the beds ect...) are under section 721.

As for the OP, general regulations apply and the earthing arrangement should be considered.
