gear stolen was;

2 x dewalt 18v twin set's
1 x dewalt 36v hammer
megger mft1553
2 sets of hand tools, both in c.k magma bags, both pretty new, one with irizola screwdrivers and all the other tools youd expect from a couple sparks tools

all the drills and batteries had 'mt' or 'hc' carved in to them.

please contact me on 07877847883 if you hear of anything

Sorry to hear about this. Was your van signwritten or were they just lucky?

Also, was this a brute force attack or did they do something clever?

This is the unusual part, My van has been signwritten for the last two years since it was new but it is being replaced this week and i removed it last weekend, so no it wasnt, neither was my mates a plumber who got done the week before

all they did was pop the plastic handle out with a screwdriver and pull the internal lever and the door just opens...........excuse me whilst i just go and bang my head against a wall!!! Lol

just had these slam plates fitted they look just the ticket!

all my drill boxes etc. are chained together with tranny, steps and padlocked. so if they get in, they can't lift anything without a cordless angle grinder and time.

That's pretty appalling security by Renault.

Anyone know how good the latest Transit Custom is for security? Anyone heard of one getting broken into yet? (I'm lusting after a new van that I can't really justify!)

the guy at the lock shop said he has had lots of transits with their side and back door locks being opened with a lock pick that you can buy online, no damage to the lock at all

seems like standard locks on most vans are just poo! unbelievable isnt it!

We had deadlocks fitted after the latest theft, bit late but hopefully stop any future break ins. I know a tiler in my town, went to a job to quote, while he was in the house some scrotes popped the locks on his transporter and emptied the van. Cheeky sods hung around and when he returned to his van they said ÂŁ250 mate and we will get your tools back grrrr

I suspect that's fairly old ones. Even mine, which is 9 years old doesn't have a keyhole on the side or rear doors, and I don't think the more recent ones have, either.

I got told a story by a mate of mine.

He was working with a guy on the same firm and asked him where his tools are?

Disapeared was the responce.

The firm had a container to store tools etc, locked tools away friday night. Monday morning came and no container
