You haven't read it these are distortions in the microwave background (radiation) like a twist they were predicted may years ago as a result of the ripples i the fabric of space/time which we know as gravity waves .... the big bang was the theoretical birth of the universe through rapid inflation ... if this was true it was calculated and predicted we should be able to see distortions in the microwave background which may years later has been shown to be the case... this is not a curiosity someone stumbled on it was predicted and searched for and up until recently we haven't had the technology to search for it.

Its the direct evidence of the effects of gravity waves.

If you walk down the street and see some dog muck you don't have to see the dog to know its a likely culprit.

I don't know why you brought mass into it this has nothing to do with mass ...incidentally radiation is also massless as its an electromagnetic wave.

The term gravitational radiation is not the same concept as electromagnet radiation where the latter is an energetic measurable wave, Gravitational radiation just refers to ripples in space/time and a confusing tag hence most use the term gravity waves.

Its a consequence of the interaction of a particle called the Higgs Boson the concept of which is very difficult to explain, i didn't mean Gravity has nothing to do with mass i was referring to your use of it in a previous post - we weren't discussing the concept of mass and it had little to do with our chat but yes a lot to do with gravity it does.

@pepparz... Hats off to you though for joining in a very thought provoking debate ... I've studied it for 30yrs so kind of have an edge TBH and have had many similar threads in the past hence i set up a Quantum Group - and absolutely nothing wrong with getting quantum theory wrong - its said 'If you understand quantum theory then you really don't understand it'.

Reminds me when i had 2 bible bashing dear old ladies at my door and said to them ''sorry love before you start Ill tell you im an atheist'' ... she asked me why I was an atheist so i just said ''because god made me this way'' ......
