Hi,
Can i pls have some advise.
I had a rewire done in my property and used halogen 50 w spots in the dining area 2 rings in the ceiling on separate switches.
I noticed on one of the rings the halagen lights had all blown i thought it was because of cheap bulbs so replaced them with LED bulbs.
When i put the LED light in to the fitment i noticed a small glow on the LED bulb and in turn once all 6 were installed i noticed they all were glowing??
I called back my electrician and he meterd the ring and found that there was a 23v feed to the ring even when the switch was off.
The switch is 3 way and there is 23v at the switch even when off??
He went away unable to solve the issue...
He has not been back to solve this and i guess he does not know what the issue is can anyone shed any light on why this may be like this..
The LED light have a permenant feed of 23v to the ring even when the switch is off all the neutrals are at the switch.
Im assuming this is why the halagen lights all blew as they were permenently on even though the lights did not come on it was not possible to see due to such a low voltage.
Im not an electrician but have some practical knowledge has anyone here any logical train of thought as to why this is occuring.
