Hi guys, what are your thoughts on Stroma certification body? I'm starting out and therefore want to keep costs down. Initially I was going to go with NICEIC due to most people being familiar with the body. However since thinking about it, Stroma is 1/4 of the price of the NICEIC Approved contractor.
Any thoughts and experience of Stroma would be welcome
And also wondering if anyone has gone through the on site assessment with Stroma.. It will be my first time being assessed...
I think Stroma do a job as well as the rest of them.

Thanks Andy, I guess they all have the same standards to meet and therefore all offer the same product...
Can't fault them. Inspection was good guy was really nice and lived in real world
Organisationally in the computer and finance areas they have absolutely no idea, but from a delivery of service and providing capability they get it right.
The assessments are standard not too taxing, normal sort of questions and tests to do, similar paperwork requirements and the assessors seem OK.
All the schemes are singing to the same song sheet, you just need to find out if you need a specific requirement that only one of them can provide.
That was my reasoning for not joining them, I have been Elecsa member but have recently switched to Napit due to them being cheaper.
Depending on who you're clients are, you'll find that the average home owner doesn't even know who the NICEIC are.
Quite scary the fact anyone could write electrician on their van and walk into homes.
I changed from Elecsa to Stoma this year and saved a couple of hundred pounds plus each notification is half price too - noe of this "mandatory" warranty crxp.
I keep scheme membership to ensure I notify jobs that fall under part P - I have no need for a "badge" as the majority of clients don't care.
So in summary - the assessment is tougher than Elecsa, the online notification is nice and simple (plus they can notify by email).
The only negative was that they demanded I bought a check box for my MFT - and keep doing checks on it........
