Stroma Certification Scheme stroma

Discuss stroma in the Certification NICEIC, NAPIT, Stroma, BECSA Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I am waiting for an inspection date from stroma but they have been vague about how many jobs they want to see, what books i need, what jobs they need to see. they say they want a health and safety policy........any advice please?

You need PL insurance and reference books "appropriate" to your scheme.
calibrated test equipment.
Proof of qualifications.

As you say the information pack they refer you to does not exist. Try ringing and ask them to send the CPS information pack they state is available!

For other schemes you need BS1671, OSG, Guide to EAWR, Part P approved document, GS38.
Qualification certificates (normally just C&G 2382 17th Ed), PL certificates, health and safety policy, possibly waste policy.
Jobs sufficient to demonstrate your competence in testing and installation, preferably largish.
Knowledge of the building regulation requirements (Elecs guide to Building regs helps here).

Thanks Richard. How many jobs do they want to see?
Stroma's information says minimum of one.

Surveillance of Licensed Members – on site

  1. An Operative/ Key Responsible Person must provide a minimum of 1 location for assessment prior to the renewal certificate being issued. The requirement is 1 assessment per Operative per strand of membership.
  2. Stroma Certification will require the Operative/ Key Responsible Person to make available documentation to be checked during the assessment visit. Details of the documentation to be checked will be made available prior to the visit. Stroma Certification may require information to be submitted to prior to the visit, and this will be emailed to the Operative/ Key Responsible Person.
  3. Additional visits may be required if the initial assessment indentifies any non conformities and this will be charged at the Operative/ companies expense. There is no minimum expectation set by Stroma Certification on the number of re visits that may be required to award the certification, however Stroma Certification will assess this on a visit by visit basis. Where non conformities cannot be resolved within this period the operative will be suspended, and prohibited from making notifications.
  4. All re visits will be agreed with the operative and valid reasons provided to justify this decision and where possible desk top assessments will be undertaken.
  5. If substantiated complaints are received against the Operative or company, additional surveillance visits may be required. The Operative or company may be expected to cover the costs associated with the additional surveillance visit in order to resolve the complaint.

4.0 Failure to Meet Surveillance Requirements

  1. Operatives who fail to meet the surveillance visit requirements must rectify and non conformities and Stroma Certification may undertake an additional site visit to verify corrective changes made as per Section 3.1.
2. Operatives who fail to meet the surveillance requirements will be subject to the criteria outlined in the Stroma Certification ‘Escalation Policy’ and the Certificate of Certification will be suspended and/ or withdrawn.

  1. In all cases, actions that are deemed to contradict the requirements of the ‘Code of Conduct’ will be subject to the criteria outlined in the Stroma Certification ‘Escalation Policy’ and where applicable the Operative’s license and/or Certification will be suspended and/ or withdrawn.
