sometimes we overlook what is on our own door steps so to speak. spent the new year in Wales for the price of half a tank of diesel. stunning place. views of sondonia, cottage in the middle of nowhere. :D fantastic.
[ElectriciansForums.net] stunning place

I reckon I've got some of the most versatile environment and scenery around me, short of moving back to Scotland, down here.

Seaside a mile one way, country side half a mile the other, a small amount of urban along the coast a little, the downs along the way are nearly a hill. There's not much missing really.

the Lakes :) kendal and a little place called cowanhead is beautiful. I love Wales though. not ventured south Wales for a few years. just been to South stack today with the kids on Anglesey

I reckon I'm the luckiest. Ive got as many different Nationalities on my door step without ever having to leave my own town.
I've learnt more languages and have some great views of factories and cultural Market places...... I live in Slough :p

Must admit, we never appreciate what is on our own doorstep.

I live in the heart (ish) of the New Forest, drive through it most days on various jobs, and never even give it a second thought.

Well, i do, but only in the summer when all the dam holiday makers get in my way. :D

:) leeds the concrete city. fancy a change and as soon as the degree is sorted off we go :D i am thinking either wales or somewhere remote ish not the scilly isles like my mate has just gone to, thats far far too remote and if we think its expensive for twin etc you should see his shipping bills. i don`t reckon he gets much change from a quid a mtr for 2.5

Lovely area.

I deliberately went through that way in the summer from here, when I took the family over to the Somerset coast for a long weekend. The drive was probably better than the stay, to be honest.

I was probably one of the damn holiday makers getting in the way lol - well, they were probably getting in my way too, to be honest lol! Not reknowned for my patient driving :)

The new forest is great! usually caravan in Brockenhurst, sad to say the last time was a few years back now :( cycling over to the motor museum at beaulieu was a good trip out too. The only bad memory has to be lyndhurst the traffic!!!!:D

talking traffic and summer. we went down to cornwall and left on the 1st saturday that the kids broke up from school. wow the inbound was enough to make you glad you were going the other way.

Lyndhurst is hell on earth in the summer, whatever time of the day.

There are a couple of ways round, but can take longer, even though you keep moving.

New Forrest lovely my lil sis lives down that way.

I live in South Wales and I do like the Gower Peninsula I've spent many a night camping there and Elan Valley is a fantastic drive to Devils Bridge (mid Wales) via Black Mountains .

But North Wales I spent a weekend at Portmeirion village hotel, What a stunning place that is.. didn't get to ride the train up Snowdon though as it was closed but that means I will have to return.

I work all over the country, ( some say my work is all over the place!) a lot of it in transmission cabins on top of hills and mountains. Not very nice in the snow and rain but when the sun comes out, the views can be stunning. And I can drive to the top.

I live in a wee place 15mins from glasgow 5 mins from Nomobile signal lochs n open countryside its good to just pop up the hill n relaxxxxxxxxxxxx
