Stupid Bloody Lightbulbs!

Hi All,

Quick question which hopefully you'll be able to tell me how stupid i'm being - but how do you change these lightbulbs?! It's not like I've got an engineering degree........ oops.



Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Remove the front glass diffuser that gives you access to the lamp

Switch it off first cus they dnt half get hot

Not sure if the glass has to be rotated a little till it pops out, or if a small lever is inserted into one of the gaps and the glass prised out?

Yep usually a prise off and you get to the halogen capsule lamp. Remember not to handle the new lamp directly with your fingers.

The silver ring that holds the opaque glass in place will usually have two to three little prongs holding it in place. Gently try prizing it up from different points on the silver ring part. Or it may twist a little as someone suggested.

It is possible that they may be completely factory sealed units that do not allow the end user to open, I can't quite see the detail required to see a definite method of opening them, but I would suggest a search on the manufacturer and model number (if they are on the light fitting) should give you the manufacturers installation and maintenance instructions.

It looks like it can be a light bulb with 2 thin prawns and it needs a rubber sucker to pule it out. Usually this should come with a light packaging.
