I recently passed my 17th Edition regs and also have Part P and 2392, but am not on a competent persons scheme yet.

I just wanted to check that I am now technically qualified to fill out BS7671 certificates including Installation certs?

Also, does anyone have any advice on where to get blank certificates?

Cheers,

Mark

To fill out any kind of cert, I think the only requirement is that you are deemed competent to do so.

So you can test and do the certs but won't be able to self certify the job if its needed.

If you carry out any electrical installation work at all you must fill in the forms, this applies whether or not you have the highest quals in the land, or none at all. If you are not on a Part P scheme, then any work you carry out which is notifiable must be notified to LABC, and then they will need your certs once the job is done.

You can download the forms free, from the IEE website, or put a post on here in the for sale/wanted forum, and someone might email you some.

And your question is not stupid, we all started somewhere.

Cheers.........Howard

When you say you "have Part P" You mean you have taken some form of course labelled "Part P"?

That's my understanding of it, though I can't find the certificate anywhere. Doh! I'm not a member of a scheme, but I may join one - haven't decided yet.

Is there something I should know?

There is now a course for getting ready to become Part P regd. I dont know anything about its content or what if any qualifications are awarded.
