Further to my discussions with Gavin - ive spoke to this guy who wants to sub the solar work to ourselves (not the same guy Gavin as i asked if he was talking to you)

Whats the score with sub-contracting and MCS - i havent really done this before - they said to me my name is on the contract at the time they sign - so i suppose that becomes my contract to satisfy MCS - all seems a bit vague.

Anyone here do this regularly via a third party?

personally I'm asking them to get themselves REAL certified, then at least it's their neck on the lines first on the sales front, and it's minimal expense and hassle to do it.

but yes, you're responsible for signing the work off an warranty, MCS etc. as well as ultimately being responsible for the sales methods conforming.

Interestingly I just picked up a job from a sales company up in the NE on a yorkshire stone roof, as the install team they used had no idea how to install on it when they rocked up today.

Also, the sales team I've been talking to I'm pretty sure are the team that we've picked 3-4 jobs up from due to the sky high prices they were charging, and customers ringing us afterwards then cancelling - looks like they're sick of ripping people off and being undercut, so abandoning that ship and setting up for themselves.

Bit odd that there are 2 sets of them talking to firms at the same time though... giz a bell to discuss please dansk, may need to set up a little informal subcontracting network amongst ourselves to fullfill all the orders if we get the contract, plus I'd hate to find out we were competing with each other and undercutting each other when there'd probably be work getting shared around afterwards anyway.
