Im currently having an extension built and have arranged to have my meter and supply moved to exterior wall.
I will have to install a new supply cable from meter to existing consumer unit , the distance is approx. 10mts I have the option of running the cable underground through the new concrete footings and into room containing consumer unit, or run the cable through the original part of property under floor board ..

what would be the size and type of cable required in each instance and any installation factors to take into consideration ?
cheers

The installation factors and design parameters will determine the size of cable used. You should get the electrician who will be carrying out the work to do this design work for you at this stage of the job.

Get your electrician to design it, not the builder who thinks it's only a couple of wires.

Just to point out it not only the size of the cable but you also need to know the correct method of installing it .Cliffs guess at 25 3core may do the trick but without all the facts its just a guess.it is unlikely but you may a 3 phase supply and so need a 4 core cable. But as others as said get an electrian to design it for you
