Can i run a submain from the garage into the house study room in 25mmpvc/pvc tails, apporx. 15mtr run, the garage is attached to the house and all the ceilings have been taken down? or any suggestions on a cheaper way? would i be able to install the tails in the wall down to the new mains board...

What do you tend to run off the sub main? The whole house?
Effectively making the sub board the main board

I'm not sure on running the tails in the wall - someone with more experience would be able to answer that one. But it would need a seperate isolator because the tails are longer than 3 metres long

"In the wall down to the new board",if buried less than, it brings up the rcd protection issue
Swa or mechanical protection

Seems like a big job for something that might happen once in a blue moon. How often is there a problem in a house if it is all going to be rewired?

I'm randomly guessing that it's going to be re-wired due to ceilings down and moving c/u into a different part of the house

it will be on a switch fused isolator in the garage, run across the joists down the wall to the new board, so i guess if its in the wall it will after be swa! trying to keep the cost down

yeh, total rewire but this is what the customer wants, tried to talk him out of it but noootttttt happening
