suggestions for lights in barn

As above. Quite long with high ceiling. New barn. Think it will house some livestock and bales etc. A good light with low running costs is what im looking. Cheers in advance.

for general lighting, some kind of IP65 SON fitting will do nicely, cheap running costs, and the lamps last ages. Any half decent wholesaler will stock them

Or if you prefer a white light, metal halide fittings, about the same price as SON'S just white light instead of orange

Or high pressure mercury fittings, same as SON pretty much but better light and similar running cost.

metal halide did the trick.
did a concrete frame cow shed last week which was L70ftxW60ft.
it had 3 evenly space concrete pillars down the middle so fitted 6 off 70 watt metal halide 3 each side its like blackpool and cheap to run.
think neweys did em for £36 plus vat each plastic body .
farmers made up no more torches to check on his cows .
down side had to jayes fluid the van cos cow poo stinks for ever!
