Hi,

Customer wants to put solar panels on roof of summer house but will have to check structure for strength. Is the building subject to the same building regulations as a house?

Depends on size and position with respect to house and boundaries iirc. The planning portal has a guide

Think about it - how many detached garages have solar PV installed on them, under planning / building regs there may actually be no difference between the two. Planning Portal - Do You Need Permission?
They are all considered 'outbuildings'
