When doing an I+T Today on a domestic property, i came accross a fault (C2) I thought might be of interest, its not the first time I have come accross it either.
The house was originally wired to the 16th in 2002.
It had a Night Store added in the bathroom in 2010, all legit. Completion cert part p etc.
This storage heater was wired from a new 16a rcbo in the board, the lighting, shower and downflow heater in the bathroom were not RCD protected but were supplementray bonded, as was all the pipework, The new nightstore was not.
This IMO is a C2 on an EICR as to allow the lighting and shower etc. to pass with a C3, all CPC's and conductive parts should be supplementary bonded.
I can see how the sparks failed to notice as all his new circuit was to the 17th but he inadvertently introduced a potential hazard.
Is it our responsibility as a sparks completing minor works/additions to check for situations like this and if necessary to install supp. bonding to our new circuit?
I think so but was just looking for others opinions.
