Asked to install 2 lights on a patio (minature vintage street lamp style jobs) max draw 0.5amp between the 2 (120watts total) and a small fountain. Ideally cabling to be discreetly run with minimal upheaval.
Can't bury SWA as the patio is laid on top of the "substantial" concrete floor of what was a garage. Customer veto'd digging a trench in the concrete - So thats plan A out.
Considering SWA or Hi-tuf clipped to the raised stone/concrete edging (raised being maybe 50mm taller) facing the largish stone chips that are the top layer of the patio.
Chance of mechanical damage is...zero essentially ( a table and 3 chairs sits in the middle of the patio, lights are to be several feet away on the edge of the patio), so pondering if SWA is overkill, considering the lack of potential for mechanical damage and that the cabling will be visible, H05 or H07 RNF or similar would be less intrusive, easier and quicker to install and weatherproof. (there is also a gap between the chips and the edging which H07 1.5mm2 3 core would fit into.)
Conduit could end up being a trip hazard and would stick out like a sore thumb. no wall where the lights and the fountain are going, open area of patio adjacent to a concrete slab/flagged path
Supply is from a local Wylex type rewireable board in a weatherproof plastic cabinet, board tests out ok, IR tests for example are >1000 megaohms. 2 spare 5 amp fused ways available, so plan was to add 2 RCD FCUs (one for the lights, one for the fountain) fused down to 3amps, IP68 glands then out to the lights and the fountain, furthest distance from the fuseboard is 4 1/2 metres.
Thoughts?

Why add two FCU's when one RCD would protect the whole board? Does it need RCD or is the Main DB already equipped with RCD and protecting this DB? I wouldnt like to wedge cable into gaps / stone chips, more chance of damage? I would defo go SWA if it's buried like that...

Lights are unswitched as is the fountain, so if customer wants the lights on but no fountain and vice versa, RCD FCU then allows isolation.
House boards are both metal clad wylex, no RCD protection anywhere in the place (they are on the list to be upgraded in the nearish future likely next year).
Original owner was a spark seemingly and there are a few "interesting"things done in the distantish past, such as a din rail screwed unenclosed above the DB with cables joining there (thankfully disconnected from the main board....and getting stripped out when the lights and fountain get done)
I see your point on the H07, occurred to me also in terms of rubbing etc just after I posted it.
Hardest part will be getting a fix for the cleats as its that 1.5" thick decorative concrete edging that chips oh so easily.

Reason I can't just drop an RCD inline before the board is that the board is at the bottom of the cabinet and the SWA is glanded into the bottom of the board.
Thanks guys, I figured as much, what my gut said, just didn't want to over spec the cabling without good reason.
