Have been installing new 20 amp radials for socket outlets and lighting in a newly built office space in a small commercial unit. The new build office is part of a much larger building, and although it has its own CU, this in turn is fed from a 3 phase DB situated in the warehouse area, which in turn is fed from a 100 amp MCCB in 1 of 2 main distribution panels.

On the EIC, how would i approach the supply characteristics part, as I cannot gain access to the main incommer.

Cheers

you.ll get the charicteristics from the local db, ze should only be measured at the first db so id just put lim for it and state the reason.

Either gain access to the main incommer, and measure, or obtain the values by enquiry.
There should be no LIM on an EIC, LIM is for PIRs only.

Yes, the supply characteristics must be taken at the incomer or by enquiry and as Spinlondon said, no limitations on an EIC.

Main incommer is in its own room with a locked door. Even the owner of the company has never had a key since they moved in and the building is theirs so no landlord to ask either. Makes me wonder though, as the meters are in the same room

So how are they reading the meters? If I had a new building, the first thing I would do is get the meter reading in case your left with a big bill!! Someone must have a key, or else invest in a jemmy!!

Steve.

must have been broken before you came, just like a meter seal. wish i could still ge tthrough a small window

Well there is a will there is a way....

Anyone hear about the chap who got pulled through a hole the size of a cd case when his clothes got caught up in the machnery he was operating. got squirted out the other end like playdough but survived. he said something like "i could see what was about to happen so i just relaxed my body and let it happen"...useful tip for entering small spaces...never let a window phase you again!
