...took about 4 months for SSE (our DNO) to turn up and place the backwards running meter.....I thought they'd replace with a LCD display version - but the one they installed still uses mechanically/cog driven digits; but flashing LED to indicate use (red for consumption/green for 'export'). I wonder if I could use that in some way....

When you say it took them 4mths - what do you mean ?

1. 4mths from date of commissioning ie. G83/59 notification

2. You informed them by some other means

3. Meter reader must of noted it

4. Continual Nil electricity bills

I informed EON via the FiT application form. They noted this in a subsequent phone call. 3 months later I received a phone call from EON saying SSE would be in touch shortly to arrange a date. So to be fair how long SSE themselves knew I don't know. The process was handled with minimum fuss as far as I was concerned.

(My post wasn't meant as a complaint btw - I just posted for info - I wasn't exactly in a rush to have it replaced!)
