Unfortunately in my experience most clients do not have the infrastructure / software in place, so at present we have a 3d, back to 2d, back to 3d scenario. I believe once all the "infrastructure" is in place it will be beneficial for the client, and their facility management teams, etc. But for us cable pulling monkeys - a 2D drawing has always been the way, & to be honest I cannot see it changing anytime soon. Of course you can have 3D available on a tablet (or similar), but scribbling notes, spilling drinks, & being run over by a semi-skilled in a MEWP? It seems to me that the onus is being put onto the contractors, who get little benefit. Perhaps they need to sell this harder to the client, not the contractors? Just my two pennies Regards Billy
