Hi, I have been to price up a job where 3 core swa has been layed under a concrete drive. I need it to supply a pond pump and a garden light, Therefore I need 2 switched lives a neutral and an earth. Can I use the armoured sheath as the earth? The cable is inside the CU cupboard and the CU has capacity for an additional RCD. The customer would like a 2 gang switch in the CU cupboard so its a straight forward job if I can use the armour as an earth?

You would treat it as a TT installation.

I assume said contractor is part of a Part P scheme (NICEIC, Napit, few others..) in which case complain to them. They'll investigate (in theory)...
