As title says .. Ive heard earthing nuts but do you not normaly just gland to plastic and attach fly lead as normal

You can use either method!!

The earthing nuts are expensive which is why you dont really see them...

could put metal enclosure underneath and gland to that.

If you have a 20mm or 25mm gland you could use a metal "straight thru" conduit box, bush one side to the plastic box, the other will take the gland,
then connect an earth fly lead to the conduit box, there is a 4mm tapped thread in the box for this. Hope this helps.

was always taught to gland then flying lead off gland to met in box be it an adaptable box or ccu

Can do either, but why buy earthing nuts when everything you need will come in the gland pack, as long as the cpc continuity is there.
