Any suggestions as to how to terminate swa into a switch/fuse neatly? I've run it through a metal box and out to the switch with the switch cover covering the point where the sheath is split but wondering if there's a neater way to do things?

Just a fan of the band mate and there's quite abit of cockney in my family aswell though and the reject cracks also because I live up north

Weidmuller sak 10 terminals should do you and use pin crimps to reduce the tails and earth down to fit into the terminals and from memory sak 10's are rated at 70 odd amps

I'm afraid that like most wholesalers these days, they employ 'ordinary' staff rather than ex-electricians like in the good 'ol days! I rarely ask such questions at wholesalers because they're usually met with a blank stare. I like to know what I'm after BEFORE I visit or call the wholesalers!
If you do happen to find a link to what you're on about then I'd find it a very helpful start :)

If your ever in burton.

Go to lh electrical.

Ask to speak to danny he is ex sparky so best one to deal with (most of the staff there are very good)

sigh , while im waiting for the kettle to boil........

tails from meter in to 100A DP stand alone switch
tails from DP switch into henley blocks
1 set of tails from block to house CU
1 set of tails from block to 63A sw-fuse
out building swa feed into sw-fuse
job done

which will be the isolator thats electrically closest to the dno supply.

to be honest you seem to be making a real meal of out of a simple submains connection by some reluctance in using a 2nd switch.......

Don't you start Biff !!
There's no 'reluctance' about it.
I'd rather not have a fused switch at BOTH ends of the SWA. Therefore, looking for the best way to achieve this, ie. connect the 10mm SWA into 25mm tails. If the only way is another switch then so be it... just asking if anyone has an alternative idea....what's wrong with that?
Enjoy your tea.

I'm assuming the cable will have to be cleated well to hold it in place anyway, as a stuffing gland ain't going to hold it tight like a SWA gland...
