Any suggestions as to how to terminate swa into a switch/fuse neatly? I've run it through a metal box and out to the switch with the switch cover covering the point where the sheath is split but wondering if there's a neater way to do things?

So why don't you install a 100A isolator in a metal clad enclosure ....?
I'm afraid that like most wholesalers these days, they employ 'ordinary' staff rather than ex-electricians like in the good 'ol days! I rarely ask such questions at wholesalers because they're usually met with a blank stare. I like to know what I'm after BEFORE I visit or call the wholesalers!
If you do happen to find a link to what you're on about then I'd find it a very helpful start
but you need to "joint" swa to tails - what better way to do it?Because I already have one of these at origin of supply. Don't need another!!
If your ever in burton.
Go to lh electrical.
Ask to speak to danny he is ex sparky so best one to deal with (most of the staff there are very good)

Well, all the function is as a joint and isolator so all I would do is mention in in the scope of the cert. I suppose you could use a galv box and a very large bit of choc block!Doesn't that just make the Cert more complicated? Only gives you space to record one isolator !

which will be the isolator thats electrically closest to the dno supply.
to be honest you seem to be making a real meal of out of a simple submains connection by some reluctance in using a 2nd switch.......
who said ANYTHING about a fused switch at the joint you want to make????????????????????????????????????Don't you start Biff !!
There's no 'reluctance' about it.
I'd rather not have a fused switch at BOTH ends of the SWA. Therefore, looking for the best way to achieve this, ie. connect the 10mm SWA into 25mm tails. If the only way is another switch then so be it... just asking if anyone has an alternative idea....what's wrong with that?
Enjoy your tea.
