DIY here with no electrical experience. I would like to use a guitar amplifier (Positive Grid Spark 40w) to push a pair of bookshelf speakers that I have (Philips FB 930R PH). The amp is rated at 40w @2x4ohms and the speakers are each rated @6ohms. Will someone please explain how/if this can be safely achieved? Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Stick the two 4 ohm speakers in series and you won't damage your amp. Won't be hifi quality due to the more restrictive bandwidth of a guitar amp, but still may sound OK.

Or if the amp really is 2 x 4 ohm then connect one speaker per output.
