Re: Switch hight problem

#7 using dimmers & refurb & your going to use 25mm back box try a 35mm otherwise you may have problems fitting dimmers but then again you might not.

Re: Switch hight problem

Its a bloody light switch, hardly the most used electrical accessory in a house. As long as it is reachable does it matter what height it mounted at?

If I get the chance I ASK the builder to put noggins in where I am having switches / sockets, quick notch with a small saw and a bash with a decent wood chisel and you get a decent fixing point.

#37 I would just get in & cut the noggins myself if you start off putting more work back on the builder they will either get the hump with you straight off the back or start charging you. Best thing price the job get the job done with little inconvenience to them as possible

Here's a thing, to comply with part m we have to put switches at no more that 1200mm from ffl. No one seems to have worried about those lamps hanging from pendants 2 metres above ffl. How the hell is someone in a wheelchair going to sort them when they go? Levitation?

i have a couple of customers in wheel chairs. they do the sensible thing and if their care assistant/home help can't do it, they phone me.

i know. but the accessibility is for normal usage of accessories. i'd not expect someone in a wheelchair to be replacing blown lamps. it's just a question of how far do you go.
