so spurring of the switches to a single socket and maintaining the ring through the switch - is that allowed?
Why two switches- because he's planning to have a sink in between the applainces.

TBH, I can't see a problem with this setup. My only concern might be that the switches are rated for 20A so would that mean the input terminals are rated st 32A? There has been a debate about this with grid switch assemblies.
In practice, the loading is not going to be anywhere the rating of the protective device. So as stated elsewhere, A 20A DP switch feeding a BS1363 unswitched socket outlet would look reasonably pleasing.
