I'm currently in the process of a house refurb and next on my to-do list is light switches and wall sockets.

I've narrowed it down to two brands which are MK & Crabtree and Screwfix stock both at reasonable prices.

Which brand shall I go for?

Everyone knows it's against the regs and completely illegal, not to mention irresponsible and morally reprehensible to wire neutrals to switches.

Shame on you!

Really when did this happen not aware of any statute document that makes it illegal and can you advise the reg number that precludes having neutrals at switches. Been debated a few times on here and this is this first time I have heard this statement of fact made

There won't be a reg number because there is nothing wrong with it at all, just numpy opinions on something they have no idea about, it is laughable.

Just thought I would ask the question really hate it when the term illegal is used seems some don't understand non compliant or miss interpret it to mean illegal shows a lack of knowledge and experience IMO

Nettle was taken over by mem delta and rebranded later to be scrapped in favour of eaton and the accessories brand has now disappeared from circulation, I only use hager solysta now as mk and Crabtree have gone down the pan as as mk2747 socket terminals can only be done up once after that they break away hager have nice terminals you can get 4 or 5mm screwdriver in there .good connection every time , click is good too but I fitt hager better I use their boards a lot now you know where they are made and I trust them 100% .it is not illegal to put neutrals in switches the niceic inspector told me in the future it will actually be more encouraged with the use of electronic switching and making fault finding easier , if you can't work out how to wire it up then dont do it

I don't think that post was made seriously mate.

I have had the misfortune lately of using selectric gear, once through necessity and once through helping out on a mate's job. Jesus wept that stuff is garbage ! It's that bad it's almost unfit for purpose.
