swopping t8 or t5

D

davelerave

possibly looking at swopping out T8 58watt twin fittings for T5 35watt HE

as part of an energy saving drive
just wondering has anyone compared them on site-brightness/lumens ?

i think there's a slight drop in lumens but maybe not much in comparison to an old fitting

Well we converted a load of the old 58w 5fts to T5's with some green thingys which fit on the end of the tube and special starters (also green) in a school, No-one ever whinged about the brightness and there was no noticable difference in light, however all of these flurrys were fairly low level (none more then 8ft)

However we did it in school holidays so I doubt any teachers noticed!
