I've had enough situations where problems occur to not want be going there again and normaly isolate the screen at the motor at installation as it's easier to connect it later than to isolate it later. However I wiil always look at MIs first to get a feel for their expectations.Tbh the difference between drives requiring grounding both ends and those requiring isolation at the motor is beyond me so I just do as instructed by the drive manufacturers guidance.
Normally this is the first thing I look at when presented with interference but this time there was some opposition to us being there and had to go along with it, the 5h1tty plantroom helped that decision too.
Ironically I haven't touched a VSD for years, possibly 10 years, (at 69 I'm trying to leave work to the boys) and now a 2nd in 18 months with identical problems.
