I've had a couple of requests for extensions to systems (7KW-9KW) we installed over the last few years. The DNO have given permission but I haven't a clue how to register the extension. I cannot see anything about extensions when submitting a couple on installations this morning. Are they registered as a new installations?

TIA.

MCS Register it as a new system, it's the FiT provider that will pick up it's on the same MPAN, - make sure they don't misband it though, some are known to..

Thanks Ted. They do have an epc. But..........................................I've done a new install today and the epc, which should have been done earlier in the week is not getting done now until Wednesday. Will that be a problem?

NEW installs the epc has be done before applying for FiT.
Extensions the EPC must be dated NOT Later than the date of commissioning - it can be the same date (who said commission in the morning epc in the afternoon :) )

If they already have an EPC of D or better then there is no problem. For an extension to get the higher rate the EPC must be dated on or before the commissioning date.

good point... got a 52kWp extension going in shortly, that could have been an expensive thing to get wrong.

this sort of thing is a complete farce.

Agreed, loss of N further down the network can give wildly changeable voltages If it is tied to earth, then that will go up and down too.
