Is there anything wrong with having t&e mixed with singles on a ring circuit? For example a kitchen ring with conduit linking everything. The 2 legs coming from the garage would be t&e as they will be clipped to joists. But as everything in the kitchen will be conduit it would be easier to pull singles than trying to pull 2 t&e cables down a conduit. Can't see anything in the regs advising against this.

how are you connecting the T/E to the singles? arew you using conduit as cpc or a separate conductor. more info needed to give definitive reply.

can't see any problems as long as everything is done to regs. and cont. tests are ok.

i've got some 7/029 singles he can have. it's red/black, so should blend in nicely. :computer:

As an apprentice when the colour change happened I had the fun of clearing all of the old colour cable out of the stores. Along with the usual array of SWA offcuts and half drums of singles there were some imperial singles, a complete drum of lead twin, TRS and VIR hiding away at the back of the stores.
That company never threw anything away!

I've done that several times ran most of the ring in t&e and then dropped a few links in , in conduit and singles. Done it a few times when wiring sockets in a conservatory and having to span a doorway. Nothing wrong with it aslong as all singles are enclosed in containment

I'm not sure how to word this...
Cables in trunking over head (maybe not the read word to use but about that high) need to be tied down, in such a way that when if the trunking melts in a fire, that the cables don't hang around and catch people trying to leave. Also they maybe still live.

When I was referencing using conduit to span doorways in a conservatory I meant that I had dug up the floor as it had dwarf walls and there was no other way than go under the floor. But yes I see your point you do have to have fire resistant cable supports over exit doorways
