Hey guys, just wondering if i could use 14 AWG T90 house wire from Home Depot on a 15 Amp foglight for my 12V car? Also 12 AWG for something else. I saw it was cheap, weather resistant and durable.

Is it stranded or solid copper? Solid wire is not very suitable for automotive use as the connections tend to fail with vibration, and many types of automotive terminal are not suitable for solid.

Should do the job then, but I don't know how the insulation compares with normal vehicle harness wire for oil resistance etc.

I will tuck it into a nice and dry place so it wont touch any oil. I mights buy a wire loom and run it through that for further protection but it will encounter water which it is protected against. Thanks alot!!!
