Not sure if this is a silly question but when changing the tails on a CU do you change the tails from the main cut out to the meter? also do you need 25 mm tails if the main fuse is only 60 or 80 amp?

You don't have to change the tails from the cut out to the meter.That is down to the DNO.You only need to change the tails to the CU if the cut out fuse is 100A.

Anything upstream of the meter & the DNO will get very protective & quite likely very, very cross

They may look the other way over cut-outs being pulled (& who`s to say the seals weren`t cut before you got there? ) but they wouldn`t appreciate you kindly doing a bit of re-tailing for them

yep as above meter to cu only and 25mm on 100a although i use 25mm on all

EDF now install a minimum tail size of 35mm from 100A cut out to their meter. Apparently 25mm are only rated at 97 Amps!

always use 25mm min you have no way of knowing what size fuse is in the carrier, regardless of what it says on the tin.
