I went on to UC last year for the fun of it, I was happy to fund myself but when they wanted to charge me for prescriptions for my DVT I went ape ----....... jeeeez did I give them the runaround, the offices are staffed with no hoper Uni failures who have no clue in life. I told them I didn't want to work and wanted a slice of the pie that I had paid a ---- load for the ingredients and wanted a bit of what Abu Hamza had been munching at......

No El Sparko has not hacked my password.......

Gave you a dumb as it up to us to make sure the ones in power tow the line, we have become lay drunk on mediocre TV and -------- to care or see what's really happening.

Cheer up,lads...if you carry on,i'm only gonna find more appropriate movie references,if you don't...

You've gotta get busy living,or ...;)

when you pay a road improvement tax for 20 years and the road in front of your house hasn't seen any repairs in that long, meanwhile some politician gets his street paved every 2 years at taxpayers expense you tend to get a bit sarky over it

What is this road improvement tax that you talk of?

Not just state pensions that are taxed. Mr Army pension also attracts tax however as it's below the threshold and is my primary income I don't pay any tax on it but they do get a larger chunk of my PAYE income from my present employer.

when the government gives the municipalities governing agencies the power of taxation for required funding needed for operations ,
you are taxed for a lot of reasons by county, school district, borough, and state. cost of materials and labor (for road maintenance) is taken out of tax monies.
between all these taxes including federal income tax a person with an annual income of $65,000 who owns at least 10 acres of land can expect to pay nearly $15,000 in total taxes
while this does not sound like much we here in the states have to pay for medical if we don't have good insurance.
(even with good insurance the cost of medications are ridiculous)

so while we are doing and paying for repairs to our vehicles from poor road surfaces and a politician downstate enjoys a smooth ride in his limo (also paid for with our taxes) we tend to get a bit snippy about taxes

you can avoid property taxes by living on a boat but you are hit with a luxury tax!
